Commissioned by Lake Avenue Congregational Church in Pasadena, California, this was one of several works I composed following the untimely passing of my mother. Years later, I was encouraged to make it available by my friend Benjamin Loeb, who would also conduct its Ukrainian premiere with the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra.
